This story is unbelievable and intense. The love and compassion really shows in how Laurie deals with animals then Jake. I I thought her wariness and instincts were right on and I'm glad that she wasn't naive or helpless. This is a good start to the series and I cannot wait for Laurie's best friend to deal with Rand. These are definitely guys I wouldn't mess with and who get what they want when they want it. Read it!
